SAT Testing - Background

Lake Zurich High School Adopts the Scholastic Aptitude Test

The State of Illinois adopted the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) as the college readiness exam for all 11th graders beginning in the Spring of 2017. Lake Zurich High School is working closely with The College Board, the creator of the SAT, to provide students throughout high school with the opportunity to identify where and how they can best prepare for college.

SAT Background

The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) is the oldest college admissions exam in the U.S. In 2015, the test was completely redesigned to better reflect what students are learning in today’s high school classrooms and to correlate that to how well students will perform in college. The SAT is and has been universally accepted at colleges and universities. The College Board, the creator of the SAT, is also the creator of Advanced Placement, another high quality learning opportunity for high school students.
