Digital Resources for Students

As the District implements 21st Century Learning Outcomes, we must provide students with a variety of flexible digital resources. While many of our textbook series offer online components, we must also develop a robust digital collection to support the information, media, and technology skills to blend content knowledge, specific skills, expertise and literacies.

During the summer of 2013 the District 95 Educational Foundation awarded a $50,000 grant to the school district for the purchase of books to begin the District’s eLibrary collection.  We continue to add interesting, relevant titles that can be read for research and enjoyment to our e-book collection.  This collection provides immediate access to digital resources to all district teachers and students at school and at home – to read online for a check out period of two weeks. Materials are selected based on alignment with District 95 curricula, state standards, and age appropriateness.

The District continues to add digital resources for students to engage in literacy and research activities. The resources include WorldBook Online for all students and research data bases such as Pebble Go for K-5 students and ProQuest for students in grades 6-12.

For the upcoming school year, the District is pleased to introduce teachers, parents, and students to myON. This annual subscription service provides District 95 K-8 students with unlimited access to every book on the platform with thousands of enhanced digital books from award-winning publishers. This web based product can be accessed through a login process and does not require students to check out the books.

More digital resources are available to students based on grade level and course enrollment. Parents can view the online resources and student login information available to students through the Home Access Center.
