Network Infrastructure

Network design has been aligned over the past five years to support District strategic initiatives. Available Internet bandwidth has been increased from 30Mbps to 700Mbps. Aggregated bandwidth between buildings has been increased from 3.5Gbps to 23Gbps.

The current network electronics have been strategically upgraded over the past 5 years in target areas of greatest impact and need.  Both wired and wireless building networks have been upgraded to meet the needs of today's students.

  • Wired networks have been upgraded to support 1Gbps connections to the endpoint and 10Gbps uplinks to the core.
  • Wireless networks have been upgraded to 802.11n throughout the District with additional density coverage in Middle and High Schools to support 1:1 initiatives.
  • A guest wireless network supports personal devices accompanying students, staff, and guests to ensure the best suited technology can be used.
